VACANCY FOR PARISH PATHS WARDEN ABBOTS MORTON PARISH

Do you have time for a walk?
A volunteer opportunity exists in your local parish. An opportunity to contribute towards the accessibility, maintenance and improvement of your local public rights of way network for the benefit of the local and wider community.
Worcestershire County Council is looking for a Parish Paths Warden to cover the parish of Abbots Morton.

The role will involve regular inspections and minor maintenance of footpaths and bridleways in the area on behalf of the Countryside Service. A reasonable level of fitness and good basic map reading skills are required.

A positive, but diplomatic approach to the role is essential, it may not be likely that you will achieve miracles but it IS possible for you to make a real difference by making small changes or carrying out repairs, through liaison with landowners and consultation with a Countryside Service Maintenance Improvement Officer and at the same time you may even discover less-known routes right on your doorstep!

Some knowledge of the local area would be beneficial but not essential.

Regular support from a designated Countryside Service Officer is available to assist you. Full training is provided and a one day mandatory course must be attended to enable you to carry out this role.

If you would like to know more, or to be considered for this voluntary position please contact:
